When I asked him where he come by this top secret information, he gave a furtive look behind and and almost whispered, "Everyone knows now, its all over the TV!". Multiply the simple mindedness of my neighbor by a factor of 1.035, and you can begin to see how a government/media complex can keep a niave population in childish dependency and fear of global warming, tobacco smoke, nuclear power, world financial disaster, and peanut butter! The same can be said of the California legislature, but I digress... Everyone has been screaming Congress to do something, and that's what they've been doing, but doing nothing would have been far better that what they've been doing. If they would have taken the TARP funds and the other bailout money, and given it directly to the people, that would have directly stimulated the economy in a far better way than throwing it at the banking institutions. Look at it another way: They could have taken the TARP funds and retired every single mortgage under $75000. Now THAT'S a hell of a stimulus package, which is literally putting hundreds of dollars EVERY MONTH into families' pockets.
