Al Franken: No Decision on ‘08 Senate Run

Please, please, please run Al. If you run, I’ll even promise to listen to your radio show — at least once.

Newsmax is reporting that Franken is considering a run for Minnesota Sen. Norm Coleman’s seat in 2008. As a native Minnesotan, I’d be thrilled if Franken ran against Sen. Coleman because it’d be the biggest annihilation of a Minnesotan since Reagan demolished Mondale in 84. Here’s part of the article:

While Franken acknowledges the new locale might not bring as many guests into the studio, he won’t address whether it’s a step toward an eventual Senate candidacy. Franken recently told The AP that he hasn’t made a decision yet. “I think I’ll be deciding early to middle 2007,” he said. Should he seek an elected office, Franken says his key issues would include developing alternative fuel sources, universal health care and dealing with corruption in Iraq. Franken recently returned from his third USO trip, making stops in Kuwait, Afghanistan and Iraq.

Franken worrying about bringing guests in isn’t a big thing since no one listens to his show anyway. Since that’s the case, moving to Minnesota is an easy decision.
