Mayor Ray Nagin: Running For Re-Election
“We’ve ACCOMPLISHED a great deal in the past TWO YEARS…we have put our house in order…so that we can set up the framework to KEEP MOVING FORWARD.”
– Mayor Ray Nagin
It’s hard to believe, but Ray Nagin’s re-election website says so. So there. (In light of recent activities, you’d think he would’ve made some revisions)
“When I ran for Mayor in 2002, it was with a promise to use the skills that I honed as a corporate CEO to turn New Orleans around. I’m pleased to report that the turn-around is in full effect: Jobs are up, overall crime is down, the city’s infrastructure is being rebuilt. We have attacked corruption and increased economic opportunities for all New Orleanians.”
Well, at least he didn’t promise to make the (school) buses run on time.
Gary Gross has the latest on Mayor Nagin.

*Chuckles*
Some people have no shame, but I am not in the least bit surprised. Here’s hoping the people who return to N.O. wake up and realize they need new blood in their government.

[...] First of all, “bungled response” is a subjective phrase. Was the response handled well? We’ll concede it could have been done better. But is that the President’s fault? No. FEMA is responsible. And the blame should be spread fairly, from the federal government to Louisina’s governor and New Orleans’ mayor. [...]
