Henry Waxman (D-Ca) Compares Plame to War Torn Soldiers of Walter Reed

Bottom Line Up Front: Democrat Henry Waxman compared ex-CIA agent Valerie Plame to injured soldiers at Walter Reed, calling her work “no less heroic”.

There were two very weird moments at today’s Congressional hearing in which Valerie Plame testified to a panel about her previous undercover status with the CIA. Aside from the embarrassing feeling that this was a high school play rather than a national hearing, or that perhaps this spectacle is one of the reasons why our freedom fighter friends hate us, the ambiance reeked of a conspiracy theory one could only hope Americans were too bright to see through. Based on the mid-term elections, however, the prospects of that looked bleak.

The first weird moment was when opening statements by Democrat Henry Waxman of California praised Valerie Plame for enduring the battle of Republican attack, comparing her to war-torn soldiers at Walter Reed Medical Center. Plame every so humbly accepted the praise, and the comparison.

The second weird moment was the trans-gender Code Pink man dressed like Jackie Kennedy on the day her husband was assassinated standing in the background behind Plame. He seemed out of place yet oh, so right for this occassion. His pink jacket was overlaid a pink shirt (clever) that read “Impeach Bush”. It was odd and weird, like Mardi Gras at Christmas (out of season, cross-dressed and filled with rhetorical presents for the anti-war left).

D-Calif. Henry Waxman: “Thankfully, Mrs. Wilson hasn’t suffered physical harm and faces much more favorable circumstances now than some of the troops, some of the soldiers that we met last week. But she, too, has been one of those people fighting to protect our freedom and she like thousands of others were serving our country bravely and anonymously.”

“I want to thank Mrs. Wilson for the tremendous service she gave to our country and recognize the remarkable personal sacrifices she and countless others have made to protect our national security. You and your colleagues perform truly heroic work and what happened to you should never have happened, but we should all work to make sure it never happens again.”

As a military wife of an active duty soldier and Operation Iraqi Freedom veteran, the comparison between a rich, spoiled, pampered brat and selfless, heroic, injured soldiers is repugnant, insulting and otherwise incompatible. They Code Pink Girl-guy just adds insult to injury.

The fact is that Valerie Plame was outed because her husband exposed how Israeli spies manufactured intelligence so that the American people will go to war for them!

It’s too bad Waxman hides behind congressional immunity. His lies just in his opening statements should have gotten him a longer sentence than Libby’s faulty memory. And that’s just for starters!

I dont suppose you’d care to disclose your proof of that drivel would you?

Dare I say good for Isreal, and thank God they still have the audacity to do whatever it takes to defend themselves without asking for our permission.

    Yes,I think I do.
