Senate Panel Approves Immigration Bill
Sadly, short on reform.
AP reports: “The Senate Judiciary Committee approved sweeping election-year legislation Monday that clears the way for 11 million illegal aliens to seek U.S. citizenship, a victory for demonstrators who had spilled into the streets by the hundreds of thousands demanding better treatment for immigrants.”
Appeasement only leads to escalation.
“All Americans wanted fairness and they got it this evening,” said Sen. Edward M. Kennedy, D-Mass., who played a pivotal role in drafting the legislation.
Now we’re certain it can’t be good.

Anyone know if today’s Senate version includes a border fence like the House one does? Sen. Feinstein must be super happy - her controversial additions to this bill won’t affect her re-election; she’s running unopposed.
What a total nightmare. “Technology and agents” are codewords for nothing. Yay, we get more million-dollar surveillance model planes where they ignore the output.
LA Times says this:
Supporters of the bill hailed it as a comprehensive effort that also includes measures to improve border security and interior enforcement, adding technology and border agents.

The Senate bill only funds a study of a border fence. No funds for construction.
