And why, pray tell, would anyone inside the Beltway listen to legal citizens on any subject? It's obvious to themselves that they know what's better for everyone outside the Beltway than the ones they're screwing over daily do.

Speaking of which, has anyone else noticed how closely the legislative/executive/judicial mindset mirrors that of ivory tower academia? And of the drive-by media?

Majority of hispanics are against illegal amnesty...

I've heard that before, but rarely do I see that reported.

OPEN LETTER TO SENATOR FRIST (pass it along and sign your own name to it, add or take out as you feel necessary):

Senator:

Once again I find it ironic that what I thought was OUR party comes to us hat in hand after Repubilcan Senators have just sold us down the river by approving the worst immigration plan anyone could possibly imagine. After working for the Party for years my wife and I are utterly devastated that our Party could be responsible for such a bad bill, and one that WILL lead to not only the end of majority status for Republicans but also an end to America as we know it.

We keep wondering how the Senate could have enacted such a bad bill, and have simply concluded that we have been had - that having got what they could from us the Party has now sold out to the interests supporting this bill.

So without a drastic change to the immigration bill you will not see us working too hard for our Party in November. Hopefully, those Senators who voted for the bill will eventually be thrown out of office (the vote for the bill will be haunting them for years to come, I predict - you as well unfortunately - in fact we already see campaign commercials out here citing support for the Senate amnesty plan being used against Republican candidates who voiced support for the Senate plan!), and we can get our Party back. So unless we see a drastic change to the Senate bill we simply can't get worked up about November. That can change however! Too bad as the Party in our State (New Jersey) is involved in a highly competitive Senate race.

Finally, if we feel this way, then there are many who do so as well. You about to lose us and multitudes of those who believe as we do, Senator,. Hopefully you will not have to look back on that vote as the worst mistake of your (and other Republicans) political career. Republicans may have lost the one chance they had to show America how it should be governed. Hopefully it is not too late!

So if the races are close and we lose you should reflect that it was due to the Senate sell out, and the real anger of people out there like us - the backbone of the Party. Obviously, the Republican Senators who voted for the bill simply haven't got a clue.

A piece of advice, Senator - you can't run the Senate as if you were running for the Presidency, you will end up being in the same position as President Bush - trying to please everyone, and ending up pleasing no one. Get off the fence and decide what and who you are, and stick with it! The voters will respect you more in the long run.

And please convince the House to vote "no" to the Senate bill - it's an utterly awful piece of legislation and if enacted, will lead to terrible consequences.

We'd also like to have our Party back.....
