Hispanic Coalition Blasts Mexican President Vicente Fox

A new coalition of American Hispanic Americans opposed to the US Senate’s illegal alien amnesty is condemning Mexican President Vicente Fox’s overt effort to meddle in the internal affairs of the United States and exert influence over US immigration policies. The Mexican president went on a tour of US Western states, during which he openly lobbied for passage of an illegal alien amnesty and guest worker program.

The group is disappointed in President George W. Bush and GOP senate members who are pushing a bill that rewards lawbreakers. They’re also disappointed in the President for not telling Vicente Fox to butt out of US policymaking.

As he has often done during his more than five years in office, Fox is once again presuming to speak on behalf of American Hispanics and attempting to create the impression that there is widespread support for amnesty among U.S. citizens of Hispanic heritage. However, millions of American Hispanics are offended at the idea of any foreign leader meddling in the domestic affairs of the United States, said a You Don’t Speak for Me! official.

“Who enters and is allowed to live in the United States is a sovereign matter for the American people and their elected representatives to decide, without any interference from the president of Mexico or anybody else,” stated retired Colonel Albert Rodriguez, chairman of You Don’t Speak for Me! (YDSFM).

“Given the fact that millions of Mexicans have fled the country since he has been in office, it is not even entirely clear that President Fox speaks on behalf of Mexican citizens living illegally in the U.S., much less millions of American citizens who happen to share his ethnic heritage.”

A recent poll by the Zogby organization indicates that the majority of Hispanic voters in the US are opposed to amnesty for illegal aliens and want American immigration policies vigorously enforced. “American Hispanics are, first and foremost, Americans,” said Rodriguez.

“American Hispanics, like all other citizens, are concerned about the staggering costs associated with mass immigration, the impact on jobs, schools and other vital national institutions, and the threat that our porous borders pose to the security of the nation. American Hispanics do not appreciate having their country used as Mexico’s dumping ground, or themselves used as pawns by the leader of a foreign government.”

YDSFM calls on President Fox to use his remaining six months in office to focus on curing the social and economic conditions in Mexico that drive many desperate citizens of that country to migrate illegally to the United States, rather than on lobbying the American people to grant amnesty to tens of millions of illegal aliens.

“President Fox has had the past five and half years to address the serious problems that face his country, and to achieve real improvements for the citizens of Mexico. Instead his policy has been to point his unemployed and impoverished people in the direction of the United States. His idea of helping Mexico’s downtrodden is to provide them with maps to trek across the desert,” said Col. Rodriguez.

“Now, he is brazenly demanding that the United State grant amnesty to the people he has encouraged to leave and is trying to enlist the support of American Hispanics,” Rodriguez continued. “American Hispanics have a message for Mr. Fox: ‘We are Americans and we will not be used for your political purposes.’”

OPEN LETTER TO SENATOR FRIST (pass it along and sign your own name to it, add or take out as you feel necessary):

    Senator:

Once again I find it ironic that what I thought was OUR party comes to us hat in hand after Repubilcan Senators have just sold us down the river by approving the worst immigration plan anyone could possibly imagine. After working for the Party for years my wife and I are utterly devastated that our Party could be responsible for such a bad bill, and one that WILL lead to not only the end of majority status for Republicans but also an end to America as we know it.

We keep wondering how the Senate could have enacted such a bad bill, and have simply concluded that we have been had - that having got what they could from us the Party has now sold out to the interests supporting this bill.

So without a drastic change to the immigration bill you will not see us working too hard for our Party in November. Hopefully, those Senators who voted for the bill will eventually be thrown out of office (the vote for the bill will be haunting them for years to come, I predict - you as well unfortunately - in fact we already see campaign commercials out here citing support for the Senate amnesty plan being used against Republican candidates who voiced support for the Senate plan!), and we can get our Party back. So unless we see a drastic change to the Senate bill we simply can’t get worked up about November. That can change however! Too bad as the Party in our State (New Jersey) is involved in a highly competitive Senate race.

Finally, if we feel this way, then there are many who do so as well. You about to lose us and multitudes of those who believe as we do, Senator,. Hopefully you will not have to look back on that vote as the worst mistake of your (and other Republicans) political career. Republicans may have lost the one chance they had to show America how it should be governed. Hopefully it is not too late!

So if the races are close and we lose you should reflect that it was due to the Senate sell out, and the real anger of people out there like us - the backbone of the Party. Obviously, the Republican Senators who voted for the bill simply haven’t got a clue.

A piece of advice, Senator - you can’t run the Senate as if you were running for the Presidency, you will end up being in the same position as President Bush - trying to please everyone, and ending up pleasing no one. Get off the fence and decide what and who you are, and stick with it! The voters will respect you more in the long run.

And please convince the House to vote “no” to the Senate bill - it’s an utterly awful piece of legislation and if enacted, will lead to terrible consequences.

We’d also like to have our Party back…..

Hispanic Coalition to Fox: “Butt Out”

“…and tend to your own business.” During his recent visit to his northern neighbor, Mexican President Vicente Fox received a less-than cordial welcome from several sources, including from the conservative Hispanic Coalition (”You Don’t Speak for…

And why, pray tell, would anyone inside the Beltway listen to legal citizens on any subject? It’s obvious to themselves that they know what’s better for everyone outside the Beltway than the ones they’re screwing over daily do.

Speaking of which, has anyone else noticed how closely the legislative/executive/judicial mindset mirrors that of ivory tower academia? And of the drive-by media?
