A Letter To Nancy Pelosi

Pelosi Doesn't Speak...On behalf of conservatives everywhere, I’d like to thank you for proving yet again why I’ve started thinking of Democrats in general and House Democrats in specifics as the ‘Party of Incoherent Thoughts’. Yesterday, when you endorsed the Murtha Retreat, we knew once again that Democrats don’t take winning the war seriously.

Had you stopped there, we would’ve been happy campers, especially when we’d eventually turned our attention on next year’s midterms. But you didn’t stop there. You provided us with even more glee when you said “I believe that a majority of our caucus clearly supports Mr. Murtha,” she added. Do you know how many commercials that quote is worth, Nancy? Picture Republican candidates all over the nation running ads featuring clips of Rep. Murtha’s press conference where he demanded that we “immediately withdraw.”

The commercials would then show the House vote on immediate withdrawal of troops. You know, the one that garnered 3 votes approving of immediate withdrawal? I’m sure you’ve tried repressing the awful memories of that night but we won’t let you forget it next fall, Nancy. You knew that, didn’t you?

Finally, the commercial will run the clip of you making that quote that will live in infamy. “I believe that a majority of our caucus clearly supports Mr. Murtha.” That’s gotta hurt, doesn’t it, Nancy? But that’s what happens when you try being too clever by half. You outsmart yourself and wind up looking like a fool. That’s the price you pay when you play in the big leagues.

Just so you know there’s no hard feelings, please know that we wish you a Merry Christmas and a happy New Year, though I’m sure the GOP won’t be as ‘giving’ as you were yesterday.

The U.S. Army is broken, worn out and living hand-to-mouth from fighting in Iraq and may not be able to meet future military threats to this country’s security, U.S. Rep. John Murtha said Wednesday, according to the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review. They’re…
