E.U. Hubris

Europe’s big election is coming up involving the establishment of the EU Constitution. But the French can’t agree. (Quelle surprise!)

While this referendum is a story unto itself, we found a good point on DailyPundit worthy of highlighting. Will the French say yes or no?

“[I]n a perfect example of the arrogance and remoteness that is emblematic of the EU, the current President*, Luxembourg’s Jean-Claude Juncker said:

If it’s a Yes, we will say ‘on we go’, and if it’s a No we will say ‘we continue’,” he said.

Translation: we’re going to do what we want, whether you approve it or not.

Sounds a lot like the Democrats making a compromise.
