Domenici Discusses ANWR on CNBC
Energy and Natural Resources Cmte. Chairman Sen. Pete Domenici (R-New Mexico) just appeared on CNBC’s Power Lunch for an interview by David Griffeth.
Topic: The vote to end debate on the senate floor for a bill which would approve drilling in the Arctic region, as Griffeth pointed out, “which was approved by President Jimmy Carter in 1980, but since then has not been approved by Congress.”
The interview was surprisingly lengthy and informative, going in details of the bill, and Griffeth challenged Domenici on his positions. Over all, we admit it was fair and balanced, and Domenici made his case.
The segment included a few video clips by Democrat leaders grandstanding on the issue against drilling for oil.
In conclusion, Griffeth offered this disclaimer: “I would like to point out, in the interest of fairness, we did call a Democratic senator, we called many of them, we called the Democratic leadership — and no one wanted to come on to talk about this today.”
And that reveals more than their usual talking points.
