California Earthquake: The Next Katrina?
LA Times reports: “U.S. Geological Survey seismologist Lucy Jones remembers attending an emergency training session in August 2001 with the Federal Emergency Management Agency that discussed the three most likely catastrophes to strike the United States.”
“First on the list was a terrorist attack in New York. Second was a super-strength hurricane hitting New Orleans. Third was a major earthquake on the San Andreas fault.”
Sounds like we’re next on the list.

I don’t care how much preparation goes into such drills, destruction the likes of Katrina will overwhelm the local, state and federal. Living in LA I look at the city and county web sites trying to obtain information as to what to do, where to do. All I can tell you, I’m on my own “from several days to perhaps a week”. If people were shocked at what happened in New Orleans wait til they see the looting that will take place here, the cars trying to leave to to where, the desert?. I couldn’t even find where my local shelter is? Moral: Everyone for them self, take care of your neighbors, have lots of water and food and make sure you’re packing some heat. You’ll need it.

Sobering analysis, but very true. Thanks for the comment.
