Scientists Tell Truth About Alarmist Mr. Gore

Eventually the scientists were going to speak out. Not those with a political agenda, or those that went into science to lead the fight for Luddhism, but those that just want to use scientific facts to make their conclusions.

People like Al Gore have alarmed people, caused the price of goods to go up, made some products unavailable and harmed the poor and middle class that must do without goods and services they need. All the while the rich like Gore fly in private planes, have SUV’s drive them around and use helicopters to get around bad traffic. It is time to tell our leaders in Sacramento and Washington that they need to go back to school and learn scientific facts, not create fear and lower standards of living just because, at the bottom of it, they hate freedom and capitalism. And, that is the real story. I urge you to write on the blog your thoughts, let the elected officials know your views.

Pass this story around to your friends, give them the facts to debate this cruel issue created by those that love the rich and hate giving others the opportunities they have.

As someone who works in the field of climate science, I’ll just point out that Gore gets a lot of the science right and that you are hopelessly misguided about this. What we do from a policy point of view is one thing, what the science says is another. If you are going to speak about a topic, at least educate yourself about it first and learn to think critically. Don’t just accept whatever comes across your desk from some obvious partisan screed. You might start by going to: http://www.realclimate.org. Now, I suppose you might say that all climate scientist are liberal, but that’s to deny reality. The truth of the matter is I run into all sorts. Mostly middle of the road types. Some far lefties as well as some gun-toting right-wingers. While we may talk about policy, there isn’t much debate about what all the data is saying. In any field as large and complex as climate science, there’s always someone who has a rant and gets the media’s attention. Carter gets a number of things wrong, and also omits several other important pieces of the whole climate science ‘puzzle’. You ought to look at what he says a bit more critically and ask “If everyone thinks he’s wrong, why is that?”
