Pelosi: Confusion is Our Strength

Nancy Pelosi has finally lost it and I’ve even got the Washington Post article to prove it. Here’s what Dan Balz writes:

Pelosi Doesn't Speak...House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) said yesterday that Democrats should not seek a unified position on an exit strategy in Iraq, calling the war a matter of individual conscience and saying differing positions within the caucus are a source of strength for the party. Pelosi said Democrats will produce an issue agenda for the 2006 elections but it will not include a position on Iraq. There is consensus within the party that President Bush has mismanaged the war and that a new course is needed, but House Democrats should be free to take individual positions, she sad. “There is no one Democratic voice…and there is no one Democratic position,” Pelosi said in an interview with Washington Post reporters and editors.

It’s obvious that the Democrats don’t have a single voice, Ms. Pelosi. That they don’t, though, isn’t “a source of strength” but rather should be seen as the reason why Democrats shouldn’t be given any of the levers of power anytime soon. Some Democrats oppose immediate withdrawal of troops because they think it’ll damage them politically. Joe Lieberman gets it and says that we shouldn’t leave until victory is achieved, which, by the way, is what is within our grasp.

Most House Democrats, though, don’t want us in Iraq because they’d rather pretend that the war on terror didn’t exist because they’d rather talk about the so-called ‘Mommie issues’ of health care, education, Social Security and the environment. When we’re constantly reminded of the evil nature of the Zarqawis and Zawahiris of the world, not engaging them is the most unserious policy imaginable.

She said that the issue and ethical climate in the country point to Democratic gains next year, and noted that if the elections were held today, Democrats would take control of the House. If Democrats are able to win the majority next year, Pelosi pledged aggressive oversight of the administration on issues including the war, intelligence and how the government responded to Hurricane Katrina.

This is further proof that she’s lost it. There isn’t a snowball’s prayer in hell that Democrats will retake any of the Houses of Congress anytime soon. To say that they’re clueless is understatement. Their political instincts are second to everyone’s. Their policies are focus-grouped right for appeal instead of being the right thing to do. Their ‘leaders’ say the most outlandish things imaginable and think that the American people are buying it.

And Ms. Pelosi thinks that she’ll ever be anything more than the permanent minority leader? Lotsa luck. Better yet, Nancy had best start praying for a miracle of the same proportion of Jesus raising Lazarus from the dead if she wants to be Speaker cuz it ain’t happening without that happening.

Pelosi said Democrats scored significant victories recently, the biggest coming on Social Security, on which she said Democratic opposition to Bush’s proposed private or personal accounts blocked any hopes the White House had for changing the government retirement insurance program this year. “Not only did we take him down on that, but we took down a lot of his credibility as being somebody who cared about ‘people like me,’” she said.

Nancy, you didn’t take the President down. What you did in blocking Social Security reform is cost future generations $600 BILLION of debt for each year the broken system doesn’t get fixed. As usual, you’re living, not just in the past, but in a prior GENERATION. Social Security WAS a good thing until the baby boomers started retiring.

The reality is that the Democratic Party is fast becoming the ‘Party of Incoherent Thoughts’ because they live for momentary ‘victories’ without providing solutions to real-world problems, they refuse to confront the greatest crises of our generation because they’re pacifists on the GWOT and because they’re in denial about the need to dramatically change Social Security before the Baby Boomers bankrupt the system, leaving the 20 year-olds without a pension.

If that sounds like leadership to you, then vote for a Democrat and be miserable. If you’re an optimist who believes in solving the weighty issues of the day, then you have no choice but to vote for a Republican.

Without the fear that the darkies are gonna come get us, the Republicans have nowhere to hide their contempt for the world’s population.

Some low-level Republicans, as yourself, will get really pissed once you find out that your Zarqawis and Zawahiris are nothing more than right-wing CIA flunkies.

Pelosi’s statement is typical Democrat multi-truth talk. Trying to make everyone feel like their voice is heard.

A great principle, generally, but when dealing with mass genocide performed by proud fascists, its not going to work.

The Republicans will go down for 911.

    Then Iraq will go away.

That’s the line Dems need to take.

[...] We know where Supervisor Sandavol stands. We know how Boxer, Feinstein and Pelosi are going to vote. And it’s obvious how these folks feel about it. But that’s only counting the outspoken. [...]
