PS Judas, he’s 16 NOW. How long has this been going on? 3 years? Ok, let’s imagine your 13 year old son getting freaky with a senator? Still “just sex”? Still “just gay sex”? What’s next? It’s “just marriage”?

Judas, you convince me a sixteen year old boy has the same decision making capabilities as a college educated woman and I’ll change my tune. CC, you refer to Foley as a ‘homosexual pedophile’. I do as well. Therefore it’s no big deal for me to say that, yes, Hastert should resign. They should have impeached Clinton for *anything* on the list besides having sex with a college educated woman and lying about it. What bothers me is that they couldn’t seem to be able to do even that.

b) Clinton stayed in office.

The “excoriation” continues, even coming from within Republican ranks, something we never see from Democrats: self-policing and accountability. Yet you’re also calling for Hastert to resign.

We see the double standard applies.

So what you’re saying is:
a) Foley wanted to have sex with a consenting adult, albeit he was 16, and the leadership tried to cover it up.
b) Clinton did have sex with a consenting adult and he too tried to cover it up.

Sounds like pretty much the same thing right? So either Foley should be excoriated like Clinton was along with the leadership who knew about it or Clinton shouldn’t have been impeached for lying about sex, right?

Republicans have made a big mess of this. They should have told him to do the obligatory mea culpa/coming out party (McGreevey style) sit pat and waited out the election. Now they’re giving up a seat and essentially admitting that Foley did something illegal, which he probably didn’t.

He didn’t lie under oath like Bill Clinton did, and the boy was NOT underage according to the laws of the District of Columbia, where age of consent is 16. So everybody calm down and relax.

It doesn’t matter.

You’re beating a dead horse.

When the public and Democrats see other Democcrats in scandal and poor behavior they shake their heads and ‘tsk, tsk’ because it’s expected. Nobody is surprised when Dem’s can’t keep it in their pants or diddle barely legal interns instead of chasing terrorists.

People EXPECT more from Republicans. Period.
