Note: The county name is Prince George's, not St. Georges.

The Democrats in Maryland have said things in the past to offend Michael Steele. It goes from the Baltimore Sun to the President of the State Senate. Hoyer's remarks are the latest in a series. I wonder when the voters of Maryland will see just how much the Maryland Democratic Party takes them for granted?

I used to know Michael Steele. He is an intelligent, funny, down-to-earth, genuinely nice guy. For a Republican to win in Maryland, it's a tall order (witness Gov. Ehrlich's troubles in the polls as well). But I hope they pull it off.

By the way, you might want to note just how lopsided the Maryland General Assembly is in terms of Democratic Party domination. In the past four years, the Dems have gotten really arrogant, and I hope the voters punish them for it. Unfortunately, real reform won't come until after 2010, when redistricting will take place. Maryland will need a Republican Governor then, too, in order to end the system of "three delegates to a district" that has helped the Democrat stranglehold exist for so long now.
