Porkbusters’ Public Grilling 2005: California Has Plenty of Fat To Cut
On Sunday, September 18, 2005, The Truth Laid Bear (TTLB) and Instapundit launched an online initiative called: “Porkbusters,” with the tagline: “Help The Blogosphere Cut The Fat”

UPDATE: (9/26) See the latest Congressional responses
On Monday, the Heritage Foundation established a special “pork reports” blog to coincide with the Porkbusters effort. The Foundation’s website banner reads: Congress should pay for Katrina relief efforts with offsets–prioritizing spending and making cuts in low-priority areas. Majority Leader Tom DeLay said, “Bring me the offsets, I’ll be glad to do it.” Well, here goes.
Plenty of sizzle as more pork is thrown on the grill every day.
According to Taxpayers for Common Sense, there’s $2.65 billion earmarked in California for transportation pork alone.
We’ll be keeping an eye on it and reporting updates.
We also strongly encourage everyone to check out Porkbusters and tell others about this important initiative.
Let’s take the message to our politicians that it’s time to cut the fat!
