Pakistani Killed Daughters to Save ‘Honor’

AP reports: “Nazir Ahmed appears calm and unrepentant as he recounts how he slit the throats of his three young daughters and their 25-year old stepsister to salvage his family’s “honor” — a crime that shocked Pakistan.”
The 40-year old laborer, speaking to The Associated Press in police detention as he was being shifted to prison, confessed to just one regret – that he didn’t murder the stepsister’s alleged lover too.
Hundreds of girls and women are murdered by male relatives each year in this conservative Islamic nation, and rights groups said Wednesday such “honor killings” will only stop when authorities get serious about punishing perpetrators.
The more important question to be examined: What could possibly make it “honorable” to kill girls and women?
The answer is apparent: “conservative Islamic nation.”
Religion of peace?*

I don’t expect that CAIR will show any revulsion for this behaviour, but, what about the worl wide islamic community? Or,is this just one more example of the peacefulness of islam and it’s believers ?

Let’s see, given the choice between attacking his daughter in her sleep, or going after the man she married, it is considered more ‘honorable’ to pick on the girl. Got it.
Before any Muslims out there are tempted to pipe up and claim that ‘this is not accepted under Islam’ or some such BS, please…spare us. Before you spout something about how this is ‘tribal’…give us a break. It won’t wash. Nobody’s buying.

Ideology and Barbarism
Islamofacism dictates a strict code and endorses murder for violations of that code. It venerates death, applauding those who become martyrs to advance the ideologyÂ’s jihad. It is expansionistic, hostile and utterly barbaric.

I’ll submit for the the anklebiting crowd that the key is “conservative”, not “Islamic” (and not “nation”).
Now that you’re foaming at the mouth…
Child abuse is lamentable everywhere. It’s not uncommon in the USA, either, alas. Look to your local media for stories about fathers and mothers who slaughter their children–for equally reprehensible reasons.
Blaming religion is convenient–but it’s secondary (at most).
The real issue behind this act is that he felt his honor was at stake–and that he had a right to control his family and particularly its women. Where else can you find a religion’s conservative form counseling its women to submit to their husbands?
Wake up and smell the coffee, kiddies.
Ok, foam away.

[...] Maybe we’ll get our sweethearts a burqa, instead. Nothing shows love more than insisting that a woman hides her face, lest she catch the attention of another man and her throat must be slit to protect our honor. [...]
