N.O. Mayor Ray Nagin wants a “Chocolate” New Orleans
On MLK Day, a day named in honor of a man who fought for equality, New Orleans Mayor and all-around bigot Ray Nagin called for a “chocolate New Orleans” — in front of a crowd that had gathered at City Hall for a MLK Day march:
“We ask black people … It’s time for us to come together. It’s time for us to rebuild New Orleans  the one that should be a chocolate New Orleans,” Nagin said Monday. “This city will be a majority African American city.”
And in what could only be characterized as an imitation of Pat Robertson, Nagin added:
“It’s the way God wants it to be. You can’t have New Orleans no other way. It wouldn’t be New Orleans.”
But that’s not all:
“Surely God is mad at America. He sent us hurricane after hurricane after hurricane, and it’s destroyed and put stress on this country,” Nagin, who is black, said as he and other city leaders marked Martin Luther King Day.
“Surely he doesn’t approve of us being in Iraq under false pretenses. But surely he is upset at black America also. We’re not taking care of ourselves.”
Nagin seemed to get back on the road to sanity here:
“I said, `What is it going to take for us to move on and live your dream and make it a reality?’ He said, `I don’t think that we need to pay attention any more as much about other folks and racists on the other side.’ He said, `The thing we need to focus on as a community _ black folks I’m talking about _ is ourselves.’”
Nagin said he also asked: “Why is black-on-black crime such an issue? Why do our young men hate each other so much that they look their brother in the face and they will take a gun and kill him in cold blood?”
The reply, Nagin said, was: “We as a people need to fix ourselves first.”
Nagin also said King would have been dismayed with black leaders who are “most of the time tearing each other down publicly for the delight of many.”
The question remains: when are people going to call Nagin to task for his comments regarding God and whether or not He is happy with America? Now I know some may think “Who cares? He’s a mayor — he doesn’t help set policy outside if his city and what he says doesn’t affect me one way or the other.” But the fact remains that he is a well-known mayor now thanks to his handling (or shall I say lack thereof) of pre and post Hurricane Katrina.
Also, when will he be taken to task for calling for a “chocolate New Orleans”? Can you imagine a white mayor calling for a “vanilla [insert city name here]“? The howls of outrage would be heard around the world.
Just one more in a long line of hypocritical stances on the part of the usual suspects in the MSM, the Democratic party, and America’s “black leadership” — with that stance, of course, being not to criticize a black man. Unless he happens to be a Republican who steps out of the group-think box, of course.
Oh well. At least Nagin didn’t call for the extermination of all white people.

I find Nagin to represent everything wrong with black leaders in America - incompetence, false grievances against ‘white people’, you owe me mentality, and denial of blame. Did I leave anything out?
Don’t worry, we will pour billions into New Orleans and make some black people very, very wealthy. It’s only right.

And to think, people lost their minds when someone talks about a majority jewish part of Israel, people say that’s racist. Go figure

“It’s time for us to rebuild New Orleans  the one that should be a chocolate New Orleans,” Nagin said Monday. “This city will be a majority African American city.”
Actually, I think he’s on to something. Somebody call FEMA and tell them to remove all white personnel. Same for Army Corps of Engineers. And all contractors, black only.
Let’s see how quickly they (”us”) will “rebuild New Orleans.” Maybe they’ll apply the same energy as they do to the inner cities which languish in disrepair.
Oh, and as for “It’s the way God wants it to be. You can’t have New Orleans no other way.”
Well, if God can’t have no, you can’t have no, either. Yo. But since Nagin is calling upon a heeding to biblical rights, perhaps the mayors of certain other cities should follow his lead: suggesting that they also return to the way they were before the other disaster — the flood of immigrants.

I’m thinking that Ray Nagin’s comments were taken out of context (smiling). I’m sure that in saying rebuild New Orleans as a “chocolate city,” he meant an actual chocolate city- you know, remake the buildings out of chocolate, fill the canals with hot cocoa, etc. I mean think about it: doesn’t that make more sense than the racial tone of what he ’seemed’ to be saying. I propose that we give him the benefit of the doubt … Ray Nagin! Mayor of Chocolate City! The new Candy Man, Maybe? (no disrespect intend toward the late-great Sammy Davis Jr. who was truly an exceptional American - be it black or white.

New Orleans Mayor to Seek Treatment for Addiction

NEW ORLEANS (AP) – The New Orleans Mayor’s office confirmed today that Mayor Ray Nagin will seek treatment for an addiction to chocolate. Spokesman Marcus Spires explained that Mayor Nagin has been battling an addiction to chocolate in private for a number of years. He will enter an inpatient treatment center for 8 weeks.
Dr. Wilbur Peabody of the Oakmont New Horizon Treatment facility explained that, “the Mayor has the all the classic signs of addiction. The frontal lobes of his brain, which regulate decision making and inhibit impulsive behavior, are no longer functioning properly.â€Â
He went on to explain the full extent of the Mayor’s obsession with chocolate confectionaries. “His Honor has consumed so much cocoa,†stated Peabody, “that he has built up a significantly high level of N-Arachidonoylethanolide - one of the main chocolate cannabinoids. He is clearly suffering not only a psychological addiction but a physical one as well.†Peabody further stated that he felt extremely confident that Mayor Nagin would be able to win his battle with chocolate. “I guarantee that after the Mayor completes our treatment program he’ll never so much as utter the word chocolate again much less eat it.†added Peabody.
On the streets of New Orleans many citizens expressed their unwavering support of Mayor Nagin. “I feel so relieved now that we know what is wrong with him.†said Tyrell Coleman age 31. “I initially was pretty pissed off at that brother for not bussing us out of here when Katrina struck. Now I know that he probably just had some kind of short term memory loss and forgot to order the busses to pick us up. It ain’t his fault – it was the cocoa.â€Â
Other constituents echoed Coleman in their defense of Nagin. “This wasn’t the first time that the Mayor rambled on about chocolate,†said Ron Dedeaux a resident of the French Quarter. “Now it all makes sense.†Overall, most people in New Orleans felt positive that Mayor Nagin would recover and get back to rebuilding this once great city.
The Mayor’s office also announced that an interim Mayor has been selected. Mayor Nagin himself announced that he has appointed his cousin Jimmy “Showtime†Taylor to handle his mayoral duties in his absence. The selection of Nagin’s cousin was further proof to the citizens of New Orleans that things were finally starting to return to normal.
