Jackson Obliterates Race Relations Via Duke University Scandal

Several weeks ago the lacrosse team for the Durham, North Carolina based Duke University came under fire because 3 of the players allegedly raped a stripper they hired at an off-campus party. The 27 year old stripper is also a student at the university. Duke University has canceled the remainder of the lacrosse season and the coach resigned.

nullBasic facts of the case: The lacrosse players are white. The stripper/student is black. The stripper is also a divorced mother to 2 young children. DNA tests have so far been negative in linking the lacrosse players to the crime, although the stripper does bear wounds consistent with rape. No criminal charges have been filed.

In the never ending attempt to racially divide America and maintain some resemblance to relevancy, Jesse Jackson and his Rainbow/PUSH Coalition have stepped up to the plate to by offering to pay the stripper’s tuition. If she were white, no such assistance would be offered. Of course.

CNN reports:

Jackson has yet to speak with the woman, but said his group pledged to pay for her tuition even if her story proves false.

The defense team interviewed the other dancer who performed that night, and she “has stated point blank she does not believe this allegation.”

Jackson said:

I can’t wait … to talk with her and have prayer with her, because our organization is committed, when she’s physically and emotionally able to provide for her the scholarship money to finish school so she will never again have to stoop that low to survive.”

And:

“She should be able to support her children and pay her tuition without not have to sacrifice her body to make money.”

Should not have to? Being “pro-choice” is a liberal sanctity, so why should her vocational choice not be validated by the Reverend? Jesse Jackson says she also had plans to go to law school, and “we want to help her with that, too.”

Wow, that’s some impression the stripper had on the Reverend.

Here’s a woman’s choice worth respecting:

LOVE CHILD/Diana Ross

This love we’re contemplatin’
Is worth the pain of waitin’
We’ll only end up hatin’
The child we may be creatin’

Love Child…..

I knew the way it felt to always live in doubt
To be without the simple things
So afraid my friends would see the guilt in me

Don’t think that I don’t need ya
Don’t think I don’t want to please ya
But no child of mine will be bearing
The name of shame I’ve been wearing

When Jesse Jackson and the Rainbow Coalition put down the race card and pick up the personal responsibility card maybe they’ll be relevant again.

Urgh!! Why do you think that all African-Americans follow Jesse Jackson? He’s just one person. No one elected him as leader. Jeez, don’t you realize by saying this stuff about “obliterating race relations” your playing the same game as those who say only Uncle Toms can be black conservatives: all African Americans must think alike and talk alike. Utter rubbish!

African Americans are individuals with their own minds. Do you think of Condi Rice as a robot? Is Clarence Thomas a robot? Guess what, neither is the average person of African American or Caucasian, etc. descent.

As for playing the “race card,” come on. That phrase is so hackneyed, I’m embarrased for you. Look, the next door neighbor overheard the women being called racist names by the lacrosse players. Race was brought into this because of the bigotry of a few lacrosse players.

Moreover, Rush Limbaugh intesified things by describing the alleged victim as a “‘ho.” Then lacrosse player Ryan McFadyen’s twisted e-mail about murdering and skinning strippers was released. So, things have gotten out of hand.

Instead of jumping to the defense of the lacrosse players, wouldn’t it better to wait and see what the evidence is? Why have so many on the Right reacted in a knee-jerk fashion defending the players immediately after the charges were made?

Women are raped and brutalized every hour of the day. We in the West talk a lot about our revulsion at the Islamic extremists treatment at women, but we still have our own legacy of misogyny. In our culture, how long ago was it that it was common to say a woman deserved to be rape because she was wearing a short dress?

As for Jackson’s wanting to help a woman from stripping, isn’t this what a minister should do? Yes, it’s a woman’s right to strip for money, but isn’t the best way to raise money for school. Thus, from a Christian perspective, isn’t this what one would expect of a Christian like the Reverend Jesse jackson? If Jesus saw someone wander away from the right path, wouldn’t he try his best to lead her back to the path?

If the woman is proved to be a liar, then I’m sure the public flogging will be more than sufficient punishment. Given that her name and image would be made public, don’t you think that her attempt to attend college be impeded?

The grand jury, not D.A. Nifong, has reviewed the preliminary evidence and issued an indictment. Isn’t it best to review the evidence?

Finally, let’s not kid ourselves that just because the lacrosse players are college students, some from affluent families, that aren’t capable of sin, even that of sexual assault. Just a few days ago, senior Homeland Security figures were indicted for sex crimes against children. Ted Bundy was thought to be a nice young man.

Innocent until proven guilty for everyone.

I totally agree that the the rape victim, if indeed she was raped, is a victim. There is NO justification EVER for rape. Period. I am in no way defending the lacrosse players. In fact, by virtue of them attending a strip party (or whatever you want to call it) they should all be kicked off the team. Please don’t misinterpret my statements for a defense of the lacrosse team. The opposite is true.

However, the stripper needs to take responsibility for herself. She did not ask to be raped, for sure, or else it would not be rape. However, if you look at modern hiop hop culture, the “ho and chic” pop is very in… it degrades women, and women degrade themselves. The weapon of choice was sexuality and money. THAT is what she is guilty of, having nothing to do with the rape itself.
