AP reports:
URUMQI, China - In an audacious and deadly attack just days ahead of the Beijing Olympics, two men from a mainly Muslim ethnic group rammed a truck and hurled explosives at jogging policemen in China’s restive far west Monday, killing 16.
But don’t call it ‘racial profiling’. . .

I never thought I’d utter those words but this statement is so right on the money that I can’t argue with him. Here’s what I’m refering to:
The Delaware senator was responding to news that Clinton suggested in two recent interviews that Pakistani President Pervez Musharraf is up for reelection this month.
Musharraf was actually reelected in October, and the upcoming Pakistani elections are parliamentary, not presidential.
“We have a number of candidates who are well-intentioned but don’t understand Pakistan,” Biden said at a campaign event Tuesday. “One of the leading candidates, God love her.”
“There are good people running,” continued the chairman of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, who has made his foreign policy credentials a centerpiece of his long shot presidential bid. “But to say Musharraf is up for election! Musharraf was elected, fairly or unfairly, president six months ago. It’s about a parliamentary election!”
Clinton’s comments came in an interview with ABC Sunday, in which she said, “[Musharraf] could be the only person on the ballot. I don’t think that’s a real election.”
The New York senator also made similar comments during an interview with CNN’s Wolf Blitzer last week, saying then, “”If President Musharraf wishes to stand for election, then he should abide by the same rules that every other candidate will have to follow.”
Hillary’s ‘experience’ doesn’t seem to have helped her get even the basics right. If she doesn’t even know what’s happening in Pakistan right after an assassination has destabilized the country, then we’ve got to question whether she’s clueless or if she’s just that disinterested in foreign policy. Personally, I think she’s just that disinterested in policy. Her main focus is on the accumlation of pwoer. I haven’t detected any interest on Hillary’s behalf in terms of being the wonk that Bill is. The most important things that Hillary’s interested in is the initial accumulation of political power, the maintaining of that power and the expansion of that political power.
That’s why she’d be a disastrous president. That’s why I’m thankful that Joe Biden pointed out Hillary’s ridiculous statements about Pakistan. Hopefully, people are taking notes. hopefully, they’re noticing that the so-called smartest woman in the world isn’t the brightest bulb in the string of Christmas lights.

Here’s Hillary’s statement on the assassination of Benazir Bhutto:
“The world is once again reminded of the dangers facing those who pursue democracy and free elections in Pakistan and elsewhere, in areas that are rife with conflict and violence and extremeism and anti-democratic forces at work.”
“I have known Benazir Bhutto for a dozen years and I knew her as a leader. I knew her as someone was willing to take a risks to persue democracy on behalf of the people of Pakistan. She wrote a very moving autobiography which begins with the assassination of her father who was had been the leader of Pakistan and was killed as well.”
“I grieve for her family, particularly her two children. And I grieve for the people of Pakistan who deserve to have an opportunity to vote for leaders of their choosing, who deserve to have democracy take root in a country that has tremendous potential that is not being realized because their system of government has oppressed or undermined the abilities and talents of millions of Pakistanis.” (continue reading post »)

Today’s assassination of former Pakistani Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto is a horrifying reminder that Islamic extremists want to impose their warped political views on Western civilization.
Bhutto’s assassination is proof that the extremists’ ideology knows no geographic boundaries. They seek to impose their will throughout the world, whether it’s New York City, London, Tel Aviv, Bali, Madrid or Rawalpindi, Pakistan.
Ms Bhutto had just addressed an election rally in Rawalpindi when she was shot in the neck by a gunman who then set off a bomb. At least 16 other people died in the attack and several more were injured.
President Pervez Musharraf condemned the killing and urged people to remain calm so that the “nefarious designs of terrorists can be defeated.”
This is proof that there’s only one way to deal with these extremists. For months, Pervez Musharraf necessarily walked a tightrope with the extremists. This assassination should be the end of that tightrope walk. It’s time for Musharraf to eliminate the extremists.

Are we still sending them money?
AP reports: “Warmly greeted by world leaders in Vietnam, President Bush drew a different reaction Sunday at his upcoming stop in Indonesia, where thousands angrily protested America’s policy in the Middle East and wars in Iraq and Afghanistan.”
Why? Because they have a better plan for dealing with radical Islamic terrorism in the Middle East, or because Indonesia is “the world’s most populous Muslim nation.”?
The White House said it was confident about security precautions for Bush’s visit Monday despite police warnings of an increased threat of attack by al-Qaida-linked groups.
The president was to spend just six hours in Indonesia, most of it at Bogor Palace, a presidential retreat outside the capital of Jakarta and far from the scene of protests Sunday where Bush was denounced as a “war criminal’ and “terrorist.”
But as always, we must consider the source.
These are people who think Osama bin Laden is a hero.

Thousands wound through the streets of Indonesia’s capital and gathered at mosques Sunday to protest Bush’s visit to the world’s most populous Muslim nation

“North Korea’s first detonation of a nuclear weapon may have taken place during the watch of George W. Bush — but it was under the Clinton administration’s watch that the communist regime began gathering necessary materials and constructing the bomb.
As Western powers race to confirm that North Korea did in fact explode a nuclear device in Gilju, a remote region in the Hamgyong province, some see it as a culmination of weak U.S. action during the 1990s that led to this fateful day.”

An article over at the Financial Times declares China’s competitiveness ‘on the decline’. They base this headline on the fact that labor prices in China are rising, after several years of deflation.
This is a great sign, despite the dour headline. Why? It means that the standard of living in China is rising.
[...] an average 2-3 per cent increase in the once unbeatable China price its US and European clients were willing to pay. He pointed to a “double-digit†rise in Chinese labour costs, the revaluation of the renminbi and higher oil and energy costs for the shift.
“China’s costs are all going up,†Mr Fung said. “It is no longer the most cost-effective country in the region…Anything [sourced] from China has a higher inflation component than from other places around the world.â€Â
A “double-digit rise in labor costs†can only come from one place: higher wages. These higher wages increase the buying power of a large swath of the population, bringing them out of poverty and creating a consumer class.
This development is entirely natural in a free market. You’ve probably heard arguments which claim that the pursuit of inexpensive labor is exploitative and that we should follow “fair trade†standards. While well intended, these are typically counterproductive when trying to improve living standards.
Consumers  not just Wal-Mart shoppers but large labor consumers like manufacturers  will seek out the best product at the best price. The cheapest labor comes from the poorest countries, and this is not at all coincidental. This dictates a greater likelihood that flows of capital will go to the places that most need it. To me, that is the essence of “fairâ€Â: a system which directs wealth to those which need it most.
Based on this thinking, if China is becoming more expensive, what might we expect? (continue reading post »)

Dr. Ri Kwang-chol defected from North Korea and told a forum for human rights today that North Korea has no people with physical disabilities because they are killed almost as soon as they are born. He said babies with physical defects are killed by the time they are infants in either hospitals or their homes, and quickly buried.
Dr. Ri said this practice in North Korea is encouraged by the state as a way of “purifying the masses and eliminating people who might be considered different.”
Sound like Hitler’s eugenics program?
China’s one-child policy is the means for population control. China currently has 1.3 billion people. The policy consists of 3 main points:
This one-child policy requires forced abortions… and many Chinese allow their baby girls to be murdered so they can have a son. Now they have too many boys and not enough girls. Now there aren’t enough children to replace and care for their aging parents. Good planning, communists.
Communism teaches evolution; evolution teaches survival of the fittest; the fittest end up not reproducing and eating their young. What a sad experiment Communism has been.

Have you seen the news lately? OK, so it’s a really retarded question, but how else does one address the overwhelming sense of foreboding and downright foolishness playing out on life’s stage right now?
We have China in complete control of the Panama Canal, eight major US ports being purchased by an enemy nationâ€â€and make no mistake, the United Arab Emirates ARE our enemyâ€â€conservatives calling anyone who has a problem with this sale “racist,†and in about 30 days Iran will be converting all oil sale purchases from the dollar to the Euro in a depression-spawning move known as the Iranian Bourse.
With our own leaders foaming at the mouth at the thought of all the filthy lucre they can roll around in naked, the only person I could think of talking to for a logical, reasonable, and right opinion was a man who knows where we are heading because it is the same place from which he ran away: Alex. He immediately sent me a link so I could study up on the Iranian Bourse, and after I read it, we had a long talk.
WARCHICK: Alex, from someone who knows Islam thinking inside and out, tell America about the dangers of the port sales and the Iranian Bourse. Give your take on the sales of the US ports to Dubai first.
Alex: Well… it makes perfect sense that Dubai wants to control US ports. Ports are how they made their money in the first place. Dubai has zero oil-wealth, but it is one of the largest trade zones in the world.
WARCHICK: Bush keeps saying that the UAE are our allies…are they?
Alex: Nope…they are closest to Saudi…and after that to Pakistan. It’s a liberal country with a very conservative Wahhabi underbelly…but they let people do what they want because it brings in tons of money. (continue reading post »)

Reuters reports: “Muslim anger against cartoons of the Prophet Mohammad flared anew in Asia on Friday with thousands rallying for a fifth day in Pakistan and police in Bangladesh blocking demonstrators heading for the Danish embassy in Dhaka.”
Weeks of global protests over the cartoons have triggered fears of a clash of civilizations between the West and Islam, and have led to calls on all sides for calm.
Adding their voice to the crisis, former U.S. President Bill Clinton and French President Jacques Chirac said it was a mistake to publish the cartoons, which were first printed last September in Danish newspapers and then reprinted in many other countries.
. . .“I am appalled by what happened as a result of the publications of these cartoons,” Chirac told India Today news magazine which published an interview with him on Friday.
“I am, of course, in favor of the freedom of the press, which is a pillar of democracy. But I am equally for respecting everyone’s sensibilities… So I deplore the situation,” said Chirac, who visits India next week.
Clinton and Chirac. The perfect pair to speak out as Muslim sympathizers. Surely, France doesn’t want violence to erupt again in their country. So, walk softly and stop immigration. Good strategy, Jacques. Meanwhile, the buildings are burning elsewhere…
Protests in Pakistan have been large and violent and many have taken on a distinctly anti-U.S. tone. Demonstrators, in addition to burning Danish flags, have attacked U.S. fast-food outlets and burned U.S. President George W. Bush in effigy.
Clinton, on a private visit to Pakistan, said he saw nothing wrong with Muslims around the world demonstrating in a peaceful way, but he feared a great opportunity to improve understanding had been squandered.
“This is not a time to burn bridges; this is a time to build them,” he said. His Clinton Foundation aims to promote harmony between faiths.
What a puke.
Perhaps Mssrs. Clinton, Gore, and Carter can put their heads together and figure out how to “build bridges.” In the meantime, those of us living in reality need to remain vigilant for the enemies of Western democracy are howling at the gates.
