I've never been able to point to a specific thing, other than to say nearly every one walks with an 'tude of "Look at me! I'm from CA and I'm a star!" I don't know that that's the entirety of it, or if it's only in my mind, but when they cross a border going anywhere else, no matter what they were like in-state that's what they are extra-state. Sarah, of course, hasn't been inflicted with that (at least not yet), and will have to guard against any tendency to verify rumors about her anger and self-star attitude (common among former cheerleaders, especially ones from small towns). But at least she has the sense to know when to have a backup plan.
