I would suggest rounding up as many Chinese, Jamaican, Russian, and Ukrainian illegal aliens and grant them probationary residency status under the condition that they live in that town.

Ugh, I can’t believe this is happening. In Mexico if you’re an illegal alien you aren’t allowed to go to school, get a job, vote in an election or have any sort of rights as citizens, and whenever they go an complain about it they’re ignored like they should be. If we try to pass a law like that here and we’re viewed as racists xenophobic bigots. It isn’t an issue about race and I wish all these liberals and republicans would stop turning it into an issue of race.. It’s an issue about protecting us and making sure we aren’t getting cheated out of a good life. I don’t get it, if something’s illegal it’s a crime because it’s against the law. If you are in the possesion of a large amount of illegal drugs; you go to prison for about 5-20 years. If you do an illegal right turn in a street and a policeman catches you, he’s going to give you some sort of ticket or a punishment.

This Senate bill is amnesty - nothing is done to the people who are here illegally and this creates a new guest worker classification which additional millions will use to enter the US legally.

Bush keeps saying that those who don’t follow the legal path to become legal residents will be in big trouble. This is the situation we have now! There will never be the political will to round up these people in big trouble. There is a total lack of leadership for controlling the border.

What they say to me is illegal immigrants: 1) Hate America. 2) Love Mexico (so why are they in America?). 3) Want to make America a prosperous version of Mexico 4) Are the new Democrat voting base.

Sadly, too many high school students donÃ¢â‚¬â„¢t know the difference between legal and illegal immigration. But itÃ¢â‚¬â„¢s not surprising, because their teachers and the news media call illegal aliens Ã¢â‚¬ËœimmigrantsÃ¢â‚¬â„¢ and Ã¢â‚¬Ëœundocumented workersÃ¢â‚¬â„¢. Legal immigration means Americans are making conscious choices about who they admit for citizenship, illegal immigration is simply an invasion.

The students who are walking out of school and protesting today should really be asking themselves why their cities and states encourage illegal immigration by offering benefits to illegal aliens. ThatÃ¢â‚¬â„¢s a slap in the face to every legal immigrant who waited in line for their chance to come to America.

My name is Michael Class. I live in the Seattle area with my wife and two children. I am a retired “dot-com” executive who just couldn’t sit by and let the mis-education of our youth go unchallenged anymore.

I wrote, photographed, and published a book designed to set the record straight, to properly prepare our children for the future. My book is called Anthony and the Magic Picture Frame.

In the book, my real-life son, twelve-year-old Anthony, time-travels to 1907 and meets his immigrant great-grandfather at Ellis Island. Anthony listens as officials question the new arrivals and document their intentions in the United States. Anthony witnesses the personal impact of immigration policy: He sees some people turned away at AmericaÃ¢â‚¬â„¢s door, causing families to split up.

It’s a harsh lesson: The purpose of immigration policy is to discriminate, to make choices about the people we want to admit to the United States.

Even when admitted to the United States, Anthony learns that life in the new land is anything but certain. AnthonyÃ¢â‚¬â„¢s great-grandfather masters the language of America - English - and works his way through school, only to end up in the trenches of World War I, and then back in America during the Great Depression. Eventually, he starts a business, rises from poverty, and raises a family.

When Anthony meets his immigrant great-grandfather at Ellis Island, itÃ¢â‚¬â„¢s really a story about what it means to be an American. AnthonyÃ¢â‚¬â„¢s great-grandfather says: Ã¢â‚¬Å“I became an American because I believe in America, and itÃ¢â‚¬â„¢s my belief in America that makes me an American.Ã¢â‚¬Â Anthony comes to realize the simple truth of the statement, and remarks: Ã¢â‚¬Å“America is an idea as much as it is a place. I am no different than my great-grandfather and all the immigrants who came to this land: I can only be an American by choice.Ã¢â‚¬Â

We can’t afford to raise a generation of Americans who do not value their country, their heritage, and their place in the world. As Abraham Lincoln said: America is the “last best hope of earth.”
