As you have seen by now, there was someone running around in a Donkey Suit with a team Poizner shirt on.

Someone also distributed copies of a “check” for $10,000 to the Gore-Leiberman recount committee all over the hotel.

Insurance Commissioner candidate Steve Poizner got hammered all weekend. Be it the announcement of the stopsteve.com website and the above mentioned shenanigans. I also heard about fortune cookies that were passed out with fortunes that highlighted Steve’s past history of donating to Democrat Presidential campaigns.

There were flyers and the like all over the place as usual.

At today’s General Assembly, full bleed glossy cards were distributed detailing a whole host of things (that I have blogged on in the past), that makes one wonder about Steve’s Republican credentials. This is all fair game as this is a primary.

What was peculiar was today, there was talk of forgiving past transgressions… such as the Bible story of when Saul was stricken blind and transformed into Paul.

I get where the speaker was going… but…

Saul Murdered Christians, Steve did not Murder Republicans, he just supported their opponents with money.

Paul had a complete, instant transformation. Has Steve Poizner had such?

At the Convention, he made scarce mention of his Insurance Commissioner race… Rather he talked about his recently purchased position as head of the yes on Prop 77 team. He Steve issued any press releases about his past contributions to Democrats? No. Rather, no one had seen the guy in a couple of months as this blog and others went on the warpath over his stances on issues and the checks he wrote.

If he had truly had a conversion, he’d have apologized for his past transgressions as Paul did and would have demonstrated behavior indicating true change. (Paul apologized by showing a transformation as in he wrote 2/3 of the New Testament!)

I am not expecting much, let’s start with supporting tax cuts and reversing the $150,000 he spent to try to make Parcel tax increases a 55% vote and/or apologizing for his opposition to prop 13. (Notice, I did not mention his stances on the social issues…)
