iGov: Steve Jobs For Governor?
Calpatriot.org reports: “The SF Chronicle is reporting that Steve Jobs may run for Governor of California, at least according to the “quiet conversations of Democratic activists.”
Other possibilities floating around the Democratic orbit: Robin Williams, Rob Reiner, and Warren Beatty.
As far as Dems go, Steve Jobs appears to be a moderate individual, weighing his personal success in capitalism with a prudent outlook on politics.
This quote gives some perspective:
“It’s a political problem. The problems are sociopolitical. The problems are unions. You plot the growth of the NEA [National Education Association] and the dropping SAT scores, and they’re inversely propotional. The problems are unions in the schools. The problem is Bureacracy. I’m one of these people who believes the best thing we could ever do is go to the full voucher system.”
Acknowledging that unions are the problem? Wow.
In California, that kind of reasonable talk will get you branded as a conservative.
