Clark Baker for California Assembly
Publisher’s Note: The other day we received a surprising email from our good friend and senior contributor, Clark Baker. Many of our regular readers are familiar with his conservative views, and you’ve noticed the recent absence of his writing. Here’s why.
It appears that Clark has hung up the keyboard, at least temporarily, and put on the gloves instead to take on what’s wrong with California politics. It’s one thing to write about it, but quite another to jump in and mix it up.
We are proud to announce that Clark is running for public office and currently waging his election campaign in Los Angeles. CaliforniaConservative.org supports Clark Baker for Assembly, and we encourage others to learn more about his efforts and help out. Dear Friends:
I need your help!
As you may know, I was asked several weeks ago to run for the open seat in the 42nd Assembly District. Until that time, I’d never considered running for any political office. Information and maps of the 42nd AD is posted here.
As a police officer who worked LA’s mean streets since 1980, I found that our union-owned politicians often pose a larger menace to our communities than most criminal enterprises ever could. Under the guise of public service, these people have spent decades extorting money from taxpayers,indoctrinating and stupefying our schoolchildren, and empowering gangs and violent criminals.
Antonio Villaraigoza and Jackie Goldberg are now trying to take over LAUSD, while Rob Reiner promotes a costly plan to begin the indoctrination of our children with public pre-schools! After SIX DECADES of left-wing control, it’s hard to imagine that any parent or taxpayer wants more of the same. Haven’t we had enough?
This campaign isn’t about Democrats or Republicans. We’re ALL Americans. We ALL pay taxes and many of us have children. This fight is between Democracy and Socialism in Los Angeles. It’s about whether we can endure higher taxes, failing schools, more violent crime, and fewer jobs. Socialism destroys the Middle Class, which is the only guarantee that Democracy will survive.
In the coming months, the unions and similar organizations will spend millions to attack me. As a Marine Corps sergeant and police officer, I’m used to being a target. But without your strong support, taking those hits will only result in failure. If you stand behind me, I can take the hits for you.
My campaign manager, John Gordon, is currently coordinating our volunteer force as we build our ranks. ANY assistance is welcome.
I have agreed to a voluntary cap of $800,000 for campaign contributions. By law, I cannot accept individual contributions of more than $3,300 per person. By law, any unused portion of your donations must be returned to my contributors. Although $3,300 is the limit for personal contributions, I will be honored to receive ANY financial assistance you can offer.

I hope to run for office myself once I’m over 30 (since it seems if you’re under 30 no one will vote for ya) so it’s good to see “one of my own” as it were throwing his hat into the ring. Here’s hoping you can pull it off! :)
