S.F. Chronicle reports:
“Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger declared a state of emergency Monday in seven soggy Northern California counties, making them eligible for millions of dollars in disaster aid to fix roads, bridges and other public facilities ruined by the weekend’s storms.
Del Norte, Humboldt, Mendocino, Napa, Sacramento, Sonoma and Trinity counties got the good news that the state will probably help pay for repairs and cleanup. Conspicuously absent from the list was Marin County, which, according to the governor’s office, did not ask the state for the proclamation.”
