Introducing Stephen Frank
CaliforniaConservative.org is very proud to announce that Stephen Frank has joined our team as a Senior Contributor.
Active in state politics for over 40 years, Steve is a true “California conservative.” In addition to his work as a political consultant and advisor on policy and coalition building, Steve also “runs the presses” over at his own blog, actively covering state and local news. We’ll be featuring most of his work here, focusing on California politics, of course.
Check for Steve Frank as the newest author in our categories menu (see column on your left). That’s how you can find the archives of all articles posted on this site.
As a blogger, Steve can speak from broad experience which includes military service, community service, and Republican party leadership. He’s been married for 32 years and has two daughters. From his official bio:
As a young man, I served in the US Army in the First Infantry Division in Lai Khe, Viet Nam. I became very active politically through the years. To name a few, I served as President of CA Republican Assembly. I was the Founder of the National Federation of Republican Assemblies. I was active in numerous campaigns beginning with Nixon in 1962, Reagan for President in 1976 and 1980, and many local, state and national races.
As for my community service, I served as President of the Girl Scout Council of CA, Developer of POW/MIA bracelet with Bob Dornan - worked 7 years on behalf of prisoners and those missing in action. Including organizing of offices in over 100 US cities, creating collateral material, doing radio and TV appearances nation wide and negotiating with the North Viet Namese, Viet Cong, Khmer Rouge Pathet Lao in Europe and Asia on behalf of the families of the POW’s and MIA’s.
In 1995 I realized the power of the Internet and began a periodic newsletter, “Frankly Speaking”, this had a circulation of about 125 people and tried to describe the conservative views of the day.
By 1998 this had grown to about 7,500 subscribers and was mostly talking about California political and public policy issues. A state like California is too large for folks in San Diego to know about issues and politics 450 miles away in Placer County. Instead of repeating and commenting on front page stories, I concentrated on the stories in the back pages. That may have more long term affect on our lives then the media driven stories on Page One.
We recognize and salute Steve’s impressive history of personal accomplishments and proud conservative activism. By announcing this new association, we are thrilled to share our stage with him.
Keep an eye out for Steve’s op-eds which will be posted on this site regularly, and we encourage our readers to say hello. His latest post is here.
