From Webster's New Collegiate Dictionary, journalism, definition 2b: writing characterized by a direct presentation of facts or description of events without an attempt at interpretation.

Mr. Friedman, as well as every "reporter" at every newspaper in this country, should study the definition of journalism and either decide to join the ranks of real journalism or put in the sub-head of every story he "reports" on that it is a commentary and/or opinion piece. Heck, that's something I was taught in Civics class in high school!

I would venture to say there is no one at the NYT who could truthfully claim to be a journalist. So where does he get off dissing anyone who doesn't agree with him? If he were a real journalist they would have nothing to agree or disagree with, they'd just have facts to ponder.
