Rally To Support Free Speech In Freedom-Loving San Francisco
We can think of no better place.
Inspired by the example of Christopher Hitchens who organized a rally in Washington D.C. last week and the Liberal Hawks, a New York-based group holding a rally on 3/3, Cinnamon Stillwell is planning* a rally to support free speech outside the Danish Consulate in San Francisco.
It will be held on Friday, March 10 between noon and 1pm. The Danish Consulate is located at 1 California Street (Suite 330) in downtown San Francisco: http://www.dansk-konsulat.org/
It should get a fair amount of foot traffic, which is why I’d like to keep it respectful and calm and avoid bullhorns and offensive signs. People should bring Danish flags and/or make their own signs. Some examples can be found via the links in this blog post.

I am a New Yorker and just returned from the rally in support of Denmark near the U.N. on a cold but beautiful day in Manhattan. Good luck with the San Francisco rally. The Danes stood by us; now lets show them our support. This is important. Fascism is trying to make a revival in Europe and we all must say never again.

Dear friends in USA.
Thank you for your support of my country and what we support. USA was founded on universal values, like the freedom of speech we are defending here in Denmark.
A lot of artists, writers - and now cartoonist’s have received death threads, because of their works.
Denmark is regarding USA, as a friend of our country.
Thank you for your support

Can we please schedule these support rallies on weekends or AFTER working hours?
Unlike the great unwashed libs and commies, we do have day jobs.
Have any school teachers planned to take that day off and bring their impressionable students, to participate in these “demomstrations”, like they did for the anti-war (anti American) riots?
I have substituted Danish cheese for the inferior French cheese, and Danish beer for that poor German beer. Does Denmark have a wine indusry?

Excellent, do please keep me in the loop! I wondered out loud about such a thing and I’m glad that Cinnamon set a date and time.

Photos from the ’support free speech and Denmark’ rally in NYC
A rally was held today in NYC to show support for Denmark, which we all know is the country that is in the center of the ‘offensive’ Mohammed cartoons controversy. Atlas Shrugs has some great photos from the event.

Dear friends in USA
A short note to “Soldiers Dad” and others who are looking for Danish products.
Denmark produce wine - Danish winemakers produce 15,000 litres, it’s new industry here, so I don’t think it is possible to buy the wine in USA.
About danish products - try to contact some of the people in Solvang (http://www.solvangca.com) maybe they can assist you.
Once again - Thank You for your support.

I am, I suppose, what you would call a “liberal” and I took the day off to lend my presence to the New York City rally (in the photos floating around I’m the one with the “Lego My Free Speech” sign). I too wish they would be on weekends, because taking off from work is not always easy. But this is obviously not a left/right liberal/conservative issue at all. It’s about standing up against fascism, and I would like to think that most people in this county are all on the same side of it.
Oh, and I’m very clean.
Fraternally,
Jerry

As long as Islam is falsely considered to be theologically, morally & functionally equivilent to Christianity, our liberty is at risk.
If it comes in the form of Federal legislation, it can be ruled unconstitutional. But if it comes in the form of an international treaty sponsored by the U.N., our Dhimmi President will sign it, the Dhimmi Senate will ratify it, and we will never regain our right of free expression.
I therefore urge you to sign and support these petitions, one to Congress Congress Debate Koran, and one to the U.N.United Nations: Investigate the Koran, which demand televised investigation of Islam and complete rejection of all “hate speech” & “blasphemy” legislation. Please send links to them to your Congressman & Senators and to everyone in your address book! Please send a link to the U.N. petition to Ambassador John Bolton.
