His problem is, his past keeps catching up with him, and he seems unprepared to handle things in an unequivocal manner. He or whoever groomed him, may not have been prepared for a long campaign where things like his relationships with Rezco, Rev Wright, the "clinging" omments, or this other kook from UofC were supposed to pop up, and it begs to wonder how many other eruptions of radical friends of his are going to fall out of bed, before its all over.
