Obama’s Nightmare Scenario
Marc Ambinder is reporting something that’s sure to bother King Obama:
Matt Burns, the spokesman for the GOP convention in St. Paul e-mails to say that the RNC’s convention office in St. Paul has received numerous telephone calls in the last few hours from people who identify themselves as Clinton supporters asking how they can help Sen. McCain.
So much for disaffected Hillary people making their way back to the Democratic side, huh?

Nightmare scenario, you say… having a rally that fills the very stadium where the republicans are going to nominate McSame, with little planning, little time to execute, and little assurance that any sort of majority delegate count would occur is McSame’s — and the republicans’ — nightmare scenario. (Compare the 35,000+, both inside and outside the Excel arena, to the roundup of a couple hundred old folks outside of New Or-Leens. Could there be any more striking contrast between the two candidates, the two parties, and their respective prospects?)
As the Democratic process of nominating a candidate ends, the normal healing and coalescing of the party has already begun. Could anyone — even a republican — watch Obama’s speech last night and not feel hopeful about the direction of the United States?
Sure, as a Clinton supporter, I’m disappointed that Hillary lost. But that contest ended last night, if not some time ago. Hillary, speaking before AIPAC, assured us that she will support Obama and the party, and I’m going to give her the time she needs to get closure and move on.
But last night, a black man with a funny name stood in front of the nation and made the most persuasive argument that we need to return to our core values that I’ve ever heard. I remember when Reagan talked about America in these terms, and how the American people responded. Just as then a few people disagreed, today a few people call the RNC and suggest they’ll throw their support to McSame. Give it a few days and see if the support materializes. As I pointed out yesterday, even stalwart republicans are failing to coalesce behind McSame as evidenced by the lack of donations to his campaign, the lack of enthusiasm behind his candidacy, and the non-existent interest in his positions.
Faced the the prospect of a 3rd Bush term — and let’s be clear, that is exactly what McSame offers — any Democrat that supports McSame is a Democrat in name only. If McSame is what they really want and think this country needs, then, by all means, support him.
They’ll just have to prepare for the nightmare scenario of another four years of failed policy, skyrocketing cost of living with no corresponding income growth, a breaking military, incompetence at home and abroad, national polarization, lack of progress on almost every front, and worst of all, fear itself.

And the healing has begun, in Minnesota no less!

This article gave my heart comfort…thanks!! I love it!!

[Could anyone — even a republican — watch Obama’s speech last night and not feel hopeful about the direction of the United States?] by Rocky.
Hate to pop your bobblehead, Rocky, but yes A LOT of people thought BO’s speech was exactly that–b.o. It stunk! Yes, he speaks well, but the substance is juvenile and ignorant. And, not only did his speech NOT give any hope whatsoever as it was empty rhetoric from an empty suit, but it did motivate his opposition even more so to defeat him by a landslide in November. As far as money contributions, believe me, now that there’s a clear Democratic nominee, that will start increasing as well. You forget that John McCain has been the nominee for some time now, and there’s been no Democrat nominee for some time now…well, there still isn’t a CLEAR nominee yet since Hillary hasn’t even conceded yet. By the way, since all you on the liberal left can say to support your facist candidate is “McCain/McSame would be a 3rd term of Pres. Bush”, good luck. It’s getting tired. Obambi would, however, be a 3rd term of Carter, the biggest failure as a President…although, I think Obamba would be worse, so that phrase doesn’t fit entirely.
Anyway, Rocky, just put the kool-aid down, and please do what’s right for the country! Believe me, Obama is just another liberal politician trying to get elected for power and not for your well-being.

Carter’s SECOND term NW, his first 4 were such a disaster even that cowboy actor could beat him.

Attempting to paint Obama as a Carter-wannabe is going to be a tough sell, but please go ahead and try. Republicans mastered the lie enough times and the people start to believe it as though it were true method of misinformation, it just might work.
Unless the target is a master communicator who can knock such ridiculous notions down with as little as a facial expression. Were it so for McSame (or perhaps if that’s too repetitive, we can say McCrazy, or McBush, or McFlip-flopper… there’s a million ways to say he’s the Bush-league candidate).

Thanks, T.A., I sit corrected…it must’ve been that his first term seemed much LONGER than 4 years in my memory banks!!!

Sorry to pick on you again, Rock, but I thought this method is how Obam-boozler became the Democratic nominee! (Almost the nominee, that is.)
