Proving yet again that she’s as tone deaf as her husband was tone sensitive, Hillary made this immoderate sounding statement:

Clinton invoked the biblical themes on Wednesday while restating her opposition to a bill sponsored by Rep. James Sensenbrenner that would make illegally entering the U.S. a felony. Surrounded by what the Associated Press described as “a multicultural coalition of New York immigration advocates,” the former first lady ripped the GOP bill as “mean-spirited”, insisting that it flew in the face of Republicans’ stated support for faith and values. “It is certainly not in keeping with my understanding of the Scriptures,” she declared, before adding: “This bill would literally criminalize the Good Samaritan and probably even Jesus himself.”

If Hillary thinks that she’s winning over Christians, I think she’d better recalibrate her approach. A statement like that will cause significant numbers of Christians to tune her out. This is a perfect example of why Dick Morris said that her polls sink whenever she talks and they rise when she’s silent. She’s got two ‘tones’ to her speeches: screeching or even shriller yet. With Hillary, there won’t be many concilliatory sounding statements.

After being passed by the House, the Senate is set to take up Sensenbrenner’s bill, H.R. 4437. The legislation would instruct law enforcement to seek out illegal aliens and cut federal funding for cities, such as San Francisco, that have sanctuary laws. Other provisions include the creation of a border fence, the elimination of the diversity visa lottery system and the indefinite detention of some immigrants.

The true Hillary shines through: Don’t enforce the laws going forward. Don’t punish those that won’t enforce the laws. If that’s her idea of being tough on crime and keeping law and order, I don’t want to see her idea of lawlessness and anarchy.
