“We will never have peace until they love their children more than they hate us.”
The Israeli National News reported several months ago that Hamas launched a website called Al-Fateh.net, which "glorifies shahada, martyrdom, and presents the deaths of terrorists attacking Israelis as a time of celebration." The website preaches "the moral desirability of being a suicide terrorist via cartoons and children’s stories." (audio report on the story)
The home page is innocent enough, with a cartoon drawing of a wide-eyed girl in the middle of a flower. Digging deeper, the message of child martyrdom and hatred for Israel is clear. This website is devoted to Palestinians and the indoctrination of very young children to Jihad. Here are some examples:

Read the story of Palestinian children in a refugee camp talking about the Zionist occupation:

Venerate the Martyr of the Month
Read creepy Islamic children’s stories (like ‘Resourceful Killer’)
Look at other Palestinian children who send in pictures:

JPost.com is reporting some good news, if true:
The IDF assessed on Monday that Hezbollah’s rocket launching capability was significantly compromised by the fighting that took place in the past three weeks. It was estimated that, while the organization still has hundreds of rockets with a sufficient range to reach Afula and Haifa, there were only a number of launchers remaining with launching capability. The Hizbullah still had several Zilzal rockets left that could reach central Israel, Army Radio reported.
If this report is accurate, then we might be closer to a ceasefire than previously imagined because Hezbollah’s offensive capacity will have been dramatically decreased, which was the purpose behind Israel’s not accepting the ceasefire in the first place. There’s more good news in the JPost article, too:
In the course of the fighting, the IDF asserted that it had killed some 200 Hizbullah operatives. Though most of the names were not released, one of the more prominent targets hit was Jihad Atiya, who was said to be responsible for the killing and kidnapping of IDF soldiers Benny Avraham, Adi Avitan and Omar Sueid in 2000. Meanwhile, it was released for publication that an IAF UAV bombed a truck that was said to have been importing weapons from Syria, through the Masnaa border crossing, into Lebanon. The driver of the truck was wounded, as well as four additional Lebanese customs workers.
Killing “200 Hizbullah operatives” shrinks the Arab Street, which is always a positive thing.

If I hear one more person on a news or talk show say that we’re fighting a war against terrorism, I’m going to scream! If one more Bush Administration official says that Islam is a peaceful religion, get ready for another scream.
When we fought Nazi Germany during World War II, we were not fighting a war on blitzkriegs. When we declared war on Japan following their vicious sneak attack on Pearl Harbor, we were not fighting a war on militarism. Why do we continue to say we are at war against terrorism? First of all, terrorism is an ambiguous term. Today, I heard some liberal-left newsman on a radio show say that Israel was engaged in “state terrorism” against the Lebanese people. You have liberals within the US and Europe who call the United States a terrorist nation. How many times have you heard this nuggest of wisdom? “One man’s terrorist is another man’s freedom fighter.”
However, when you say we are at war against Islamofascism or radical Islam or Muslim extremists, there is far less ambiguity and much more focus on whom the enemy is in this current war.
Yet, many political leaders — such as Sen. Chuck Schumer — who have no problem denigrating Christians on the floor of the US Senate, refuse to acknowledge the true enemy in this war.
Most of our political leaders are ignorant of Islam and the problems Muslims face when attempting to practice a cohesive religion. Islam is and always was an ambiguous religion. In order to understand how one group can argue that Islam is a religion of peace while another group commits atrocities in the name of Islam, one must return to the source of this religion which is diametrically opposed to liberal democracy.
The Koran is actually a very confusing book. It does not provide practitioners of Islam a clear and unambiguous roadmap to heaven. In fact, Arabic scholars have explained that the Koran is divided into two contradictory — opposing — viewpoints of how Muslims should interact with one another as well as non-believers. In fact, there are only two points on which all Muslims agree:one must accept Allah and Allah’s Trinity (Din, Dunya, Dwala); and Mohammad is the last and foremost prophet of God. All we’ve heard from human rights organizations for months (years really) is how prisoners have been mistreated in Gitmo. This AP article utterly demolishes that nonsense.
The prisoners held at Guantánamo Bay during the war on terror have attacked their military guards hundreds of times, turning broken toilet parts, utensils, radios and even a bloody lizard tail into makeshift weapons, Pentagon reports say. Incident reports reviewed by The Associated Press indicate Military Police guards are routinely head-butted, spat upon and doused by “cocktails” of feces, urine, vomit and sperm collected in meal cups by the prisoners.
They’ve been repeatedly grabbed, punched or assaulted by prisoners who reach through the small “bean holes” used to deliver food and blankets through cell doors, the reports say. Serious assaults requiring medical attention, however, are rare, the reports indicate. The detainee “reached under the face mask of an IRF (Initial Reaction Force) team member’s helmet and scratched his face, attempting to gouge his eyes,” states a May 27, 2005, report on an effort to remove a recalcitrant prisoner from his cell. “The IRF team member received scratches to his face and eye socket area,” the report said.
It’s time that we told these ‘human rights organizations’ to take a hike, that they aren’t taken seriously anymore. The International Red Cross, Amnesty International and the ACLU painted a picture of the prisoners being innocent victims of the U.S. military’s band of heathens. Now we know that the opposite is true. It isn’t our soldiers who are the heathens. It’s the terrorists being held there.
Based on this article, I wouldn’t have a problem with prisoners captured on the battlefields of Afghanistan and Iraq being kept right there so they don’t attack our guards here. We should ignore the cries from the American Left that Gitmo should be closed, too. After hearing how these people attack guards, can there be any doubt but that they’re terrorists who should never see the light of day?

Last week the House passed HR 5970, the Estate Tax and Extension of Tax Relief Act, with predominantly Republican Support. In essence, the bill creates permanent estate tax relief (set to expire in 2010) and protects other tax relief efforts that are now only temporary. Each of these are in good agreement with the Republican platform and much of the work Republicans have done since 2000. To that end, I support the bill and, had it not been for another provision, I would have lauded the passage as a success.
So, what is that provision? One that would dramatically increase the nationaly minimum wage. For me, this is a deal-breaker. I have never supported minimum wage increases-even making it in Oregon in 2002, when it came up on the ballot. The minimum wage is one of the worst things ever to happen to the poor, and increasing it only exacerbates inflation and unemployment. Furthermore, most minimum wage earners are not poor.
Yet, while most coverage of the bill’s passage seem to indicate that it was pushed through by Republicans, that is not entirely true. The bill passed on Republican support, but Congressional Democrats have been pushing for the wage increase for some time, and Republicans have consistently - until now - not supported it.
Senate passage is unlikely, thankfully. However, it will be unfortunate if this small aspects blocks an otherwise strong bill. Ideally, the provision will be eliminated in the Senate, and sent back to the House for ratification.

That’s essentially the conclusion Ben Stein reached in this article in the American Prowler, a must read if ever there was one. I’d add that it’s a world with too many fools.
Here’s why Mr. Stein knows we’re in trouble:
Just earlier, I talked about how the Democrats signed a letter to the president that essentially, if not officially, categorized them as A Party Committed to Losing. Stein’s article essentially just adds insult to injury on the subject.
It’s insulting that they haven’t said boo about Hezbollah’s using U.N. buildings and/or civilians as shields for their attacks. (continue reading post »)

Confronting terror and the truth with the United Nations
The majority of Americans, and most certainly our American men and women serving in Iraq and Afghanistan; understand the reason that we are involved in the perpetual fight of good verses evil. As our faithful allies in Democracy, the citizens of Israel know and remember this truth as well.
During the events of the past several years, we have seen the gnashing of teeth and rattling of sabers with dictators, despots and desperate regimes intent on seizing their power and corrupt will over millions of their captive citizens.
Times haven’t changed much since World War Two. As with Hitler, Stalin and Mussolini, we are reminded of the ever present dangers that are prevalent to Freedom and Liberty today.
In order to defeat evil, we must first confront and acknowledge it for what it is. There can be no coddling; conforming or excusing the behavior of terrorist groups who behead and murder innocent civilians in the name of Religion.
Somehow, many in the current International communities, and leadership positions, have ignored and excused who the real threat and enemy is.
It was United Nations Secretary General Kofi Annan who said alarmingly, that Hezbollah had “Allegedly” fired rockets into Northern Israel and kidnapped Israeli Soldiers. And we can’t forget Kofi Annan’s pronounced rush to judgment that “Israel had deliberately bombed” a U.N. Beirut outpost, which accidentally killed U.N. Observers.
The transparent disregard for the citizens and the Nation of Israel by the head of the United Nations; is deeply disturbing and indicative of the hatred of Israel by many of the United Nations members. (continue reading post »)

I’m wondering if everyone over at the LA Times is feeling alright. They have written one of the most important stories that I have ever read in that fishwrap. In fact, John & Ken just read the whole article in its entirety during their first three segments of the show complete with piano music in the background. Here’s the article in question, entitled: “6 + 4 = 1 Tenuous Existence”
I want to go through this article piece by piece because this is very important for our stupid politicians to start understanding.
It starts out typical…
With two teenage daughters at home and triplets still in diapers, Angela Magdaleno’s family overflowed from a one-bedroom apartment in South Los Angeles that they strained to afford.
We call these clown houses. Let’s continue:
Both Magdaleno and Anzaldo are illegal immigrants, settled for years in an immigrant enclave. Magdaleno has the same number of children as her parents, who were peasant farmers in Mexico. Like her parents, she is living in poverty and struggling to provide for her family.
My advice: Birth control…try it, it works. Continuing:
Neither Magdaleno nor her husband speaks English, though she has been in the United States 22 years and he 28. Even her teenage daughters speak mostly Spanish; their English vocabulary is limited.Yet all of Magdaleno’s 10 children are U.S. citizens. The triplets receive subsidized school lunches. All the youngsters have had their healthcare bills covered by Medi-Cal, the state and federal healthcare program for the poor.
22 years in the US and they still can’t speak the language and the daughters barely speak it also. Ten children all on the welfare rolls. Let’s continue: (continue reading post »)

In most European countries, you’d probably be brought up on “hate speech” charges for claiming that Spaniards were the equivalent of chimpanzees, but the Spanish parliament is preparing to do just that.
Green Party parliamentarian Francisco Garrido has proposed a resolution that would affirm the “Declaration on Great Apes,” which claims rights to life and liberty on behalf of chimpanzees, gorillas and orangutans. The bill is expected to pass easily, which must be a little surprising to anyone who takes it literally. Just imagine all the apes being freed from the Barcelona Zoo for a night on the town, bar-hopping to find out who serves the best banana daiquiris. Being a taxi driver in that city would be a thankless job, to say the least. It’s bad enough to have passengers blow chunks, without their proceeding to throw them at you.
In reality, such fears are unfounded, because Garrido’s bill is an example of that classic expression of symbolism over substance, the non-binding resolution. Its passage would not codify the declaration into Spain’s constitution; it would only state the parliament’s solidarity with the Great Ape Project, the organization that wrote the declaration and is campaigning for its worldwide acceptance.
This is not to say, however, that the passage of this bill would be meaningless. When a government pronounces its sympathy with “the extension of the community of equals to include all great apes,” it is stating an anti-human philosophy that is bound to manifest itself in other forms. If that’s not already apparent, then consider that a co-founder of the Great Ape Project is Peter Singer, the bestiality and infanticide advocate whom Princeton University hired as chairman of its bioethics department. “In God We Trust,” 2006
By The President Of The United States of America
On the 50th anniversary of our national motto, “In God We Trust,” we reflect on these words that guide millions of Americans, recognize the blessings of the Creator, and offer our thanks for His great gift of liberty.
From its earliest days, the United States has been a Nation of faith. During the War of 1812, as the morning light revealed that the battle-torn American flag still flew above Fort McHenry, Francis Scott Key penned, “And this be our motto: ‘In God is our trust!’” His poem became our National Anthem, reminding generations of Americans to “Praise the Power that hath made and preserved us a nation.” On July 30, 1956, President Dwight Eisenhower signed the law officially establishing “In God We Trust” as our national motto.
Today, our country stands strong as a beacon of religious freedom. Our citizens, whatever their faith or background, worship freely and millions answer the universal call to love their neighbor and serve a cause greater than self.
As we commemorate the 50th anniversary of our national motto and remember with thanksgiving God’s mercies throughout our history, we recognize a divine plan that stands above all human plans and continue to seek His will.
NOW, THEREFORE, I, GEORGE W. BUSH, President of the United States of America, do hereby proclaim July 30, 2006, as the 50th Anniversary of our National Motto, “In God We Trust.” I call upon the people of the United States to observe this day with appropriate programs, ceremonies, and activities.
IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand this twenty-seventh day of July, in the year of our Lord two thousand six, and of the Independence of the United States of America the two hundred and thirty-first.
GEORGE W. BUSH
